Two kinds of zone
Tariff zone
Sets the hourly price. Red, green, blue or yellow. Paid every day.
Permit zone
Where a resident permit is valid, e.g. Indre By (IB), Vesterbro (VB), Amager Nord (AN). Only its own zone — not every zone of the same colour.

- First hour free from Saturday 17:00 to Monday 08:00 and on public holidays — for the first registered session. You must still register. The rest may cost.
- Paying at a higher tariff is valid in cheaper zones.
Time-limited zones
- Free, but max 3 hours on weekdays. Use a parking disc where required.
- Active hours vary: some 08–19, some 08–22. No limit on weekends and holidays.
- A free resident permit removes the 3-hour limit in its zone.
- Den Hvide Kødby: free 1 hour Mon–Sat 08–17. A Vesterbro permit covers it outside those hours.
Exceptions
- Prikgader: streets where permits don't apply weekdays 10–17 — you must pay.
- Medieval City: only in marked spaces; some are reserved.
- Frederiksberg is a separate municipality with its own rules.
- A permit never reserves a space. Signs always win.
